About McLean County Dental Society
In 1902, the McLean County Dental Society was started by a handful of dentists. In 1904, the society affiliated with the Illinois State Dental Society; this seemed to have been a banner year for the society, as McLean County Dental Society member Dr. Fred McIntosh also served as president of the Illinois State Dental Society that year. To date, he along with two other members have served as president; Dr. Bradley Barnes (2016) and Dr. Stacey Van Scoyoc (2021).
The McLean County Dental Society generally meets on the second Tuesday of the month, except in the summer months. These meetings uphold the original objective of promoting the public welfare by advancement of the dental profession in education, science, mutual fellowship and good feeling, by the union of effort of other local organizations as a component part of the Illinois State Dental Society; by the advocacy of proper legislation; and by cooperation with the health professionals in all matters of mutual interest and advantage to the people of the State of Illinois.
The McLean County Dental Society has proudly hosted the Illinois State Dental Society’s Annual session in 1916, 2006, 2016 and will again in 2022.
